- Recruit new members and partners
- Identify strategic partners for increased cross-communication to target groups

- Expand GGBN online collections, fill in gaps with target projects
- Raise awareness of ABS and importance of genomic collections
Current Activities
- Developing benefits-focused promotional material for collections and researchers, including a strategy document with target goals for 2025.
- Performing user experience review of the GGBN website to inform redesign of the website’s architecture.
- Expanding GGBN online collections through member recruitment and support, partnership development, and the GGBN-GGI Awards Program.
- Filling gaps in tutorials for making genetic collections discoverable
- Promote awareness of genetic sample information through the website, social media, listserv, annual newsletter, workshops and conferences
- Engaging genetic collections and genetic collections users through social media (English, Spanish and Chinese speaking platforms), GGBN website, listservs, and meetings
Accomplishments
- Five workshops on Access and Benefit Sharing
- Four regional biobanking workshops (Asia, North America, South America)
- Three international biobanking conferences
- 95 members from 32 countries, with 27 members providing data, over three million genetic samples discoverable for research
- 17 publications
- Strategic alliances with CryoArks, ESBB, ISBER, GBIF, GGI Gardens, Species360, Earth Biogenome Project
