Current Activities

Developing benefits-focused promotional material for collections and researchers, including a strategy document with target goals for 2025.
Performing user experience review of the GGBN website to inform redesign of the website’s architecture.
Expanding GGBN online collections through member recruitment and support, partnership development, and the GGBN-GGI Awards Program.
Filling gaps in tutorials for making genetic collections discoverable
Promote awareness of genetic sample information through the website, social media, listserv, annual newsletter, workshops and conferences
Engaging genetic collections and genetic collections users through social media (English, Spanish and Chinese speaking platforms), GGBN website, listservs, and meetings

Five workshops on Access and Benefit Sharing
Four regional biobanking workshops (Asia, North America, South America)
Three international biobanking conferences
95 members from 32 countries, with 27 members providing data, over three million genetic samples discoverable for research
